• Jay Dickens Racing Engines — original shop, 2010. Jay Dickens grew his Mississippi operation from a small local engine shop into a nationally recognized builder. In 2010, Dickens and several employees joined Roush Yates Performance Group in North Carolina, where he became short-track engine program manager. The announcement stated that closure of the existing Jay Dickens shop was forthcoming. It’s a good example of another force affecting independent builders: consolidation into larger racing-engine organizations with greater machining, engineering and manufacturing resources
