• Buck Racing Engines — 2024. After 31 years, well-known drag-racing engine builder Charlie Buck announced his closing and liquidation of the North Carolina machine shop.

• Buck Racing Engines had supplied engines for drag racing, circle track, boat racing, truck pulling and mud racing. This is another example of a respected engine shop disappearing with several hundred thousand dollars of customers’ deposits.

John Jones of IRE Racing was completely wiped out and was never refunded the money for his engine.

He says never pay anyone in advance for your engines. If they can’t build it and deliver it, the risk is too important.
